Great article, adding this to my list of books to read. This reminded me of Paul Cilliers concept of an appropriate slowness. Systems that match the speed of their environment are incapable of learning and committing what matters into their memory

Thanks! I'll have to check out Cilliers. Found his paper, "ON THE IMPORTANCE OF A CERTAIN SLOWNESS", added to reading list.

Brand's ideas on the "mixing zones" between layers I find fascinating. Like an estuary between river & sea, or the foothills between forest & mountain. Unlike ecosystems interacting.
